Senior Project Manager

Widely acknowledged as the Central Coast’s largest and most distinguished architectural firm, Wald, Ruhnke & Dost Architects is looking for a seasoned Project Manager able to independently advance the technical drawings and production documents that communicate our collaborative building design process.

Project Managers must be able to:

  • Manage projects from start to finish
  • Produce construction documents, develop specifications for small to moderate size projects
  • Provide all necessary direction to Job Captains, Intern Architects, and CAD Technicians regarding project’s schedule, task assignment, and technical support
  • Coordinate resources, consultants while monitoring project schedules and budgets to ensure that projects stay on schedule and within budget
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Be a team player with an ability to foster positive, productive working relationships

Candidates must have:

  • Experience with construction administration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field and at least 6 years related work experience (minimum qualification)
  • Related work experience should include experience with managing commercial/education/healthcare projects, developing production and construction documents and specifications
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit within an architectural setting
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising a staff
  • Demonstrated knowledge of California building codes and the procedures necessary to process contract documents through the various city, county, and state agencies
  • Technical knowledge of construction methods and materials affecting architectural design
  • An understanding of fundamentals of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering as they relate to architectural design
  • Knowledge of basic sustainability principles, with LEED accreditation being strongly desired
