710 LaGuardia Street
Commercial Industrial Building, Salinas CA
Wald, Ruhnke & Dost Architects originally designed this building for Integrated Device Technology, Inc. when the company's operations shifted from manufacturing to research and development. During IDT's occupancy, the building featured a raised access floor system for test floor and laser rooms, a decapsulation room, product and test engineering rooms, cryogenic tank, liquid nitrogen unit, SEM equipment, and an acid waste neutralization tank. The facility was designed by WR&D and built on a design-build basis with San Jose Construction. Perimeter walls are tilt-up concrete wall panels with a panelized wood roof structure. The building system was developed to meet a quick construction timeline and used affordable building materials to produce an elegant yet durable facade. The building is currently occupied by Comcast.
