PAMF Commercial Crossing

Santa Cruz, CA

Working with Palo Alto Medical's Santa Cruz Facilities Planning Division, WRD developed a phased remodel of this entire existing 9,100 square foot facility, and also designed a 950 square foot addition consisting of a new palliative care wing consisting of a conference room and two large exam rooms. This new wing was constructed to create a state-of-the-art setting for PAMF's groundbreaking compassionate care services.

The tenant improvements and building addition were performed in four separate phases, allowing the building to remain open during the entire construction process. The first phase included relocation of an existing Gastroenterology practice that was relocated to 1662 Dominican Way, a building that was also remodeled by WRD. The remodel project allowed for expansion of PAMF's oncology, hematology, palliative care and infusion patient care services.

An emphasis throughout the project was placed on 'Lean Design' which seeks to eliminate waste and create efficient flow of patients and their companions, providers and staff, medications, supplies, equipment and information.

WRD performed architectural design, space planning, phasing plans, accessibility upgrades, interior design, and construction administration services as part this project.
