MPC Facilities Administration
Wald, Ruhnke & Dost Architects was retained by Monterey Peninsula College to design a new facilities administration building to consolidate multiple departments under one roof.
This building currently houses purchasing, facilities administration, and student services, with a warehouse for storage of maintenance items.
A large skylight was incorporated into the design of the lobby of the building to provide natural lighting to interior office spaces. The building was designed to fit into a hillside to maximize the land use.
A large parking lot was constructed to accommodate overflow student parking and a separate gated lot was created to provide secure parking for maintenance vehicles.
